Tell Me Your Love Story, Get a Free Valentine

Tiny valentines are devotional objects to love. Recycled paper and magazine on canvas, 2×2in.

In exchange/instead of payment: this is an invitation to share your love story. Tell me your views on love, or about your love: your greatest love, lost love, family love, romantic love, self love, an act of love, and more. Love Stories , Part I published on Feb 14, Valentine’s Day 2026.

Whatever collective display emerges here depends on each contributor. But a collective act is inevitably more powerful than a single one. However simple or elaborate, humble or grand, mousey or courageous, intimate or general, sad or happy - together, it all potentially gets to be something lovely for us all to behold. <3

By sharing, you are giving me consent to post your words (anonymously) on this website.

Thank you for looking and feel free to share with a friend or lover! <3

BACKGROUND:

-My intent with this project is to facilitate a type of emotional engagement that I don’t feel social media is great at: something slow, something ad-free, that honors meaningful collective contribution over “likes”, more deeply participatory contribution over a share or a comments section, allowing expressions of vulnerability over branded public relations style communicating. While social media is not “all bad” I haven’t had it for years. As this project is hosted on my new-ish and so far sparse personal art website, this project is also a way to engage with the world via my art. So truly, thank you for being here!

-I did this project at an in-person art pop-up in 2023. I had participants write their real names and addresses under their entry in a notebook. The notebook lives with me: so if you see me in person, you can see it. Maybe one day I’ll find a way to share when I feel like editing photos.

-Say It With Barricades: The Difference Between Peace and Love I grew up with a harmful idea of what love is, that’s taken decades to undo. This 2017 article is close to how I feel about love. While I don’t agree with the interpretations/misplaced context regarding the words of two revolutionary historical figures referenced in this piece, nevertheless, I basically try to live by the closing paragraph.
